Today’s GKV 2013 ADDY spotlight is on the Cape Cod Potato Chips “Home of Ridiculously Good Chips” campaign, ADDYs gold winner for National/Regional Television Commercial, gold winner for Collateral – Poster, and silver winner for Digital Advertising Campaign.
In May 2012 we launched Cape Cod’s “Home of Ridiculously Good Chips” campaign to grab people’s imaginations and cause them to wonder just how ridiculously good Cape Cod Potato Chips really could be.
As part of the campaign, we debuted Cape Cod’s first-ever television commercial. The TV spot, which will continue to run in select markets through 2013, begins in the expected, but pleasant location of a beach on Cape Cod among a flock of seagulls. It ends in a far less expected place as the flock of seagulls performs The Flock of Seagulls ‘80s hit “I Ran,” demonstrating that Cape Cod Potato Chips truly are ridiculously good.
Digital efforts on Cape Cod’s website, Facebook and Twitter pages reinforced the creative seen in the TV spot. Targeted digital ads drove consumers to the Cape Cod Potato Chips Facebook page, where consumers could enter for a chance to win a year’s worth of chips, concert t-shirts and concert posters of “The Flock.”
