GKV Announces New Co-Creative Directors
Dave Broscious and Mark Rosica Named Co-Creative Directors
GKV, one of Baltimore’s largest integrated marketing firms, today announced it has named Dave Broscious and Mark Rosica co-creative directors. Broscious and Rosica have more than four decades of experience between them creating dynamic, breakthrough campaigns that help challenger brands stand out in crowded marketplaces and ultimately drive business.
“We are so fortunate to have two amazingly talented and smart creative directors at the helm of our creative department,” said Roger Gray, Chairman and CEO. “I have personally worked with Mark and Dave for more than 12 years and continue to be impressed by the quality of work they create and how they continue to raise the bar for our clients and staff every day.”
GKV’s creative team was previously under the direction of Jeff Millman, who has been with GKV since 1983. While Millman will continue his leadership role with several accounts, particularly with baby boomer and health care focused clients, he has turned over the day-to-day operations, strategy and oversight of GKV’s creative department to Broscious and Rosica.
“We want to build on Jeff’s legacy of inspiring our employees to be heroes to our clients and each other,” said Dave Broscious, SVP, senior chief creative strategist. “We want our creative to generate ideas that shake things up, win hearts and minds, and help brands win.”
Dave has over 25 years of creative experience in advertising, first as a copywriter, then creative director, and currently as a chief creative strategist. In his tenure as a creative partner at GKV, he’s played an integral part in many of the agency’s most successful campaigns: PANDORA Jewelry, Sprint, McCormick, Snyder’s-Lance, Blue Cross Blue Shield and the Maryland Lottery, to name a few.
Prior to joining GKV, Dave served as a lead creative for various Northeast advertising agencies, developing highly effective, awarding-winning work in the consumer, business-to-business and direct response categories.
The campaigns that Dave has worked on have garnered awards not just from his creative peers, but from business and government marketing associations as well. Some of his most honored awards were given to him on behalf of the Cannes International Advertising Festival, New York Festival, the National Addys and the Philadelphia Art Director’s Club.
Dave graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in advertising. As a creative generalist, Dave writes, records and performs songs with his band, creates recipes from scratch in the kitchen and on his smoker, and continues to search the world for the very best Buffalo wings. He resides in Catonsville, Maryland and is the father of six: one son, one daughter, a dog, two cats and one very large horse.
Mark Rosica joined GKV in 2006 and has almost 30 years’ experience creating advertising and design in almost every conceivable category for clients in the U.S. and abroad. Mark is a problem solver who thinks strategically and creatively to conceptualize and execute unique campaigns. He enjoys trying to find approaches that are visually and conceptually different than is the category norm. He feels like there is always a space to carve out new territory for a client.
Mark’s background as an art director has always been a heavy combination of conceptual, visual and technological skill. He has passion to continually learn the newest techniques in digital and motion design in order to provide his clients with cutting-edge solutions that are fresh and current in an always-changing communications environment.
Mark has won several national and international awards, including: The One Show, Communication Arts, Clios, Cannes, Art Directors Club, London International, New York Festival, ANDY, Archive, National Addys, O’Toole, Effie, Show South, Washington Art Directors Club, Caples, Print Design, AdCritic, Telly’s, HSMAI, Batchy and more.
Mark earned his bachelor’s degree in advertising at the University of Florida. Outside of work, Mark loves to learn as much as he can about a large variety of subjects. He plays guitar, is an accomplished amateur photographer and can occasionally be found reliving his childhood on a surfboard.
