GKV Launches a New Division, GKV Health

GKV, a Baltimore-based, full-service communications agency, has launched a new division within the company – GKV Health – to prioritize strategic healthcare marketing and capitalize on 40 plus years’ experience in this category.

“With a decades-long proven track record in the healthcare sector, the time is right to showcase this area of expertise. We have consistently provided successful, strategic campaigns for our healthcare clients,” said CEO Roger Gray. “The healthcare arena is dynamic, evolving and complex, presenting new challenges every day. This is an area in which we excel.”

Explaining the company’s broad experience in healthcare, Gray pointed to successful marketing, branding and advertising campaigns for health insurance, Medicare and Medicaid, over-the-counter medicines, wellness programs and nutrition, healthcare delivery and public health awareness campaigns.

“There isn’t a category within health that we haven’t touched over the years,” he said. “GKV Health allows us to feature our capabilities as an integrated whole, making it easier for potential clients to identify relevant campaigns and evaluate how our agency can manage their needs. For many of our clients, they have a cause – it’s a passion. They need an agency that shares their enthusiasm and dedication.”

GKV Health will be led by seasoned professionals with more than 230 years of combined health experience among them. “When you look at the breadth of experience and past successes for our clients, what better way to emphasize these capabilities than highlighting them in this new endeavor,” said GKV partner Garry Raim, who has 40 years’ experience in the health sector.

“We chose GKV because of their vast Medicare marketing experience,” said Bruce Feinstein, Marketing Director at Clover Health. “Over the past 22 months, they’ve collaborated in various areas of our growth via direct marketing from creative development, list management, media management and campaign analysis.  It’s a full-service partnership. We’re delighted with their work. They meet deadlines, stay within budget and have contributed substantially to our company’s growth.”

For the past two and a half years, GKV has led Maryland’s COVID-19 communications in partnership with the Maryland Department of Health. The GKV team has coordinated with dozens of stakeholders and partner organizations throughout the pandemic to develop memorable campaigns, such as Masks on Maryland and GoVAX. The statewide, multipronged GoVAX campaign has been recognized as one of the best COVID vaccination campaigns in the country.

“GKV was a steadfast and dedicated partner throughout the COVID crisis,” said Dennis R. Schrader, former Secretary of the Maryland Department of Health. “They helped us develop multiple strategies to keep Marylanders informed about prevention, testing, treatment, vaccination and other critical issues. The GKV team was innovative, responsive and determined to engage all Marylanders, even the most hard-to-reach audiences.”

Over the years, GKV has spearheaded numerous campaigns that have had a significant impact on health outcomes, including the national launch of the Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Program, Maryland’s Smoking Stops Here campaign and marketing for group and individual health insurance plans after passage of the Affordable Care Act.

Since its founding in 1981, GKV has operated as a full-service communications agency serving local, regional, national and international clients in healthcare, insurance, consumer services, aerospace and defense, telecommunications, financial services, consumer packaged goods and cause campaigns. Notable clients past and current include: Molina Healthcare, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Medifast, MedStar Health, the Maryland Lottery, Constellation, Sprint, Pandora, McCormick, Chock full o’ Nuts and Snyders-Lance, Inc.
