GKV Promotes Chris Stark to Vice President, Associate Creative Director
GKV, one of the mid-Atlantic’s largest independent marketing/advertising firms, today announced the promotion of Chris Stark to Vice President, Associate Creative Director, responsible for the creative development and execution of digital strategy, copywriting and marketing materials for GKV clients including the Maryland Lottery, Rosedale Federal Savings & Loan Association, and Sprint.
Chris joined GKV in 2004 and brings over 20 years of experience in creating effective advertising campaigns for local, national and international brands. Chris is known amongst colleagues and clients as having an enthusiastic personality, always willing and ready to jump in on new endeavors and bringing a unique energy in his approach to finding appropriate strategies that best meet brand needs.
Prior to joining GKV, Chris worked as lead art director at the Campbell Group, an advertising agency that specialized in the tourism industry and governmental marketing assignments. GKV acquired the Campbell Group in 2004, and with the acquisition, gained an incredibly creative mind with Stark.
“Chris has been a powerhouse in our creative department, playing an integral role in continuing to develop best-in-class creative for the Maryland Lottery and helping to develop campaigns for Sprint,” stated Roger Gray, GKV’s chairman and CEO. “Stark has been one of the most valuable assets GKV gained from the acquisition in 2004, as he continuously proves a deep understanding of clients’ creative needs and the best approach for success.”
Several Lottery campaigns led by Stark have recently won awards, including OLD BAY Bucks Scratch Off and Cash4Life.
Chris received his bachelor’s degree in Advertising Design from the University of Maryland, where as a walk-on player, set the record for most runs scored in a baseball season. Today, he remains an avid baseball fan and has a passion for coaching youth leagues. He lives in Towson, Md. with his wife, Karen, and their three sons.
